SVSEF Gold Team

About the Sun Valley Gold Team

In 2005, the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation (SVSEF) created the Olympic Development Team to financially assist qualified SVSEF athletes who had risen "through the top" to become the less than 1% who compete at the international level. With the support of donors, four SVSEF athletes have competed at the past two Olympic Games. The team was renamed the "Gold Team" in 2011. Member Kaitlyn Farrington captured the Olympic Gold Medal in women's snowboard halfpipe at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.

Not only do Gold Team athletes receive financial assistance along with one of the best training environments in the country, our younger athletes benefit from the exposure and interaction with these high caliber athletes, creating inspiration and motivation at all levels.
